illustration friday: feet
Since I'm a map maker by profession, feet is a unit of measurement to me. And on a city map (which I usually work on), fifty feet is a very small portion of the map. So here's a tiny drawing on a spare piece of map. Still, in the real world, you can fit quite a few things, even large ones, into fifty feet.

so clever & cute!!!

I love it! I'm an engineer so scale is a part of my day to day life too.

This is definitely one of the more creative illustrations for the subject!

I love this 50 feet of things. And the octopus seems to have crept off the material and into the sea band - brilliant!

I've always found maps to be intriging! How cool to be a real map maker! My dad made maps with me as a child and taught me all about scale. He was great to have around when it came to making extra credit reports!

Now, I'm intrigued. So, do you make maps using image software or do you still do stuff by hand (probably not). Making maps actually sounds like a super cool job.
